Booked this last minute after a mix up by another holiday website left us a bed short at our other hotel. We'd been in Shinjuku/Kabukicho a couple of weeks earlier, so we knew the area, and the hotel, thanks to the Godzilla head that looms over the side of the building. Kabukicho is a *ahem* lively area, but being on the 26th floor meant it was quite and peaceful, plus the view over the city was great. Hotel lobby and reception are beautiful. Outside terrace was closed for the entire 24 hours we were there, and if the main reason you came here was for the Godzilla head, I can see that being a disappointment. Room was fine, if a little bit tired feeling. Check in and out was easy, staff were friendly and spoke great english. Very helpful in sorting us out with a taxi to Haneda airport when we decided we couldn't face dragging bags onto the train. Taxi was metered rather than flat rate, but still came out cheaper than other quotes we'd had/Uber. Just a word on the area - do your research and know what to expect in this part of town - lots of bars and nightlife. Kabukicho tower is a great place to eat, get gachapon and play arcade games, so our pre-teen son had a great time. Depending on your family age though, you might feel a bit uncomfortable picking your way through the drunk salary men and cat-girl maids that line the surrounding streets though!

The location was the best - surrounded by restaurants and convenient stores. about 5-10 mins walk from Shinjuku Station (East exit). We are a family of 4 with 2 kids (8 and 11) and had booked a standards twin room (2 double beds). We deliberated whether to get the deluxe twin but it costs double for the same sized beds but with more room space. We find that once we push the two beds towards the sides (wall & window), there is definitely space for you to open up your luggage. There s a sliding door between the room and sink area. Good sized bath tub in the bathroom. I requested for a quiet room on a high room and we got a room on the highest floor - 30/F. You will not hear much noise from the hustle and bustle downstairs. For those who are worried about the red light district location - it's more like an area with plenty of restaurants and bars. Nothing not suitable for a family. We did not pay for the hotel breakfast - plenty of options nearby. There's a 7-11 within the same building. Top tip - the microwave is behind the cashier, you can ask to warm food up. the hotel also has a microwave on 8/F - we only found out on our last day!

The property and building is extremely clean and the stuff were incredibly lovely and accommodating. Most staff which was definitely helpful but we had a good laugh when we got lost in translation. The amenities are replenished daily and was most grateful for the refill of water bottles thank you. Room was a spacious as it could be for Tokyo hotel living (aka small) but we made it work and there was ample room for the suitcases and to move around. I do wish the beds sizes would be considering we had to share with our kids but we made it work ! The location is fantastic in the heart of Shinjuku and has convenience stores surrounding the facilities and restaurants and cinemas and everything else not forgetting the skyline view of Tokyo from our room on the 29th floor and Godzilla attached to the building 😎 very cool!

Shinjuku nightlife isn't for everyone, but it's an awesome place to be to get elsewhere in the city, do some shopping, and see some local landmarks featured in the Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories opening, including the hotel itself. 20th floor was very quiet with only the occasional soft siren from the city below, but can imagine it would be louder below. The godzilla stuff was not overbearing if you don't care (we didn't) but pretty fun! Housekeeping and staff were awesome and very English-friendly as we asked questions about sending our luggage onward (super easy and cheap, highly recommend it), finding things in Shinjuku, and requesting extras. You need to expect a small room in Tokyo, but I thought we had a decent amount of space for the price and really appreciated the shower/bath room separate from toilet space.

Room is clean and comfortable, we had an amazing view. Our room was very quiet. AC was excellent. The room has everything you need, and is comfortable but not spacious or luxerious, it is simple. Housekeeping does a great job. Staff if curtious. We did not eat the breakfast at the restaurant, there is a 7-11 in the building that is convenient and well stocked, that is where you want to eat anyway, right? Check in and out was easy. The Godzilla features were definitly fun. Everyone knows by now that the patio with the giant Godzilla head is closed, so it was no big deal. Taxis are witing outside the hotel door if you need one. The location is central in Shinjuku if you want to be part of the action.
